Barbra Streisand Will Liven Oscar

Actress, singer and director Barbra Streisand will perform at the Academy Awards on February 24.

As quoted by Reuters, Streisand (70) who has won two Academy Awards as best actress in Funny Girl and for best original song at Evergreen.

"On a night that celebrates the art of film and music, how can complete without Barbra Streisand?" said producer Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

"We are honored that he agreed to appear over six special performances at the Oscars this year."

Streisand has also been nominated for several Oscars, including best actress in The Way We Were and as a producer for best picture nominations The Prince of Tides.

Previously, the Film Society of Lincoln Center with an award bestowed Streisand Chaplin Award, a prestigious honor achievement in the world of film.

Oscar ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre Hollywood and hosted by Seth MacFarlane. Tersbut event will be broadcast in more than 225 countries worldwide.
